Yea saw you working on this earlier. You use a tablet man? Also could you explain what tools you use to work on the lighting/shadows after laying down the base colors? I see a lot of selecting tool use going on : )

yes i use a tablet, lol. it all very basic stuff. i also believe theres like 10 different ways to do everything, it's really a matter of personal choose and what you feel like at the time. i also use different techniques for different scenes it all depends. i only use the select tool to start. comin from an anime manga background, i'm used cell shading style of coloring, work from there to make it look more painted i guess. half the time i'm just experimenting, it makes the work more fun!

Yeah, I'm from a manga background too but I'm breaking away from that and putting more focus on the story aspect of comics. At the same time, I'm trying to accelerate my learning of anatomy, do you know any resources that would insanely speed up that process? There's a comic I've been reaaaaally itching to start, but I haven't drawn for a few years so my skills are nowhere near my intended standards. And I don't feel like trying to draw it and ending up with a million proportional mistakes. You know how it is when you want to express something in a drawing but it never comes out the way you want it?

I'm seriously considering spending half a year or a year just sketching from life, grinding through figure sketches and poses, until I feel I really "get it". One of my biggest problems is female anatomy. The hips/shoulders relationship in poses really throws me off, I haven't been able to do any interesting feminine poses yet. That's why your gallery caught my eye. What do you think?

burne hogarth and George B. Bridgman are the best places to start! no question... but i found this video very helpful [link]

i'd say read the books, then watch the video so you see how it all put together into practice... then practice. lol theres no way around it. but you have to put the time into it.
