ok! so the navy has keep me pretty busy in the last few months and since i was paying for internet access on my phone. i didn't want to also have to pay for cable to connect my laptop. deviant art is very user unfriendly when it comes to uploading new art or updating journals from a smart phone.

anyways long story short i'm bored out of my mind. i already have one comic job lined up and i'm ready to get to work again. mostly got to stick to digital art. not allowed to government equipment for my own use, so scanning anything is pain. but hit me up! i looking for projects to work on!

anyways i hope you guys are still out there, i know it's been forever since i've been on DA, except to check my messages and give quick replies. but i hope to get alot of work done soon and posted. while in stationed here for the next few months.

in one week i'm leaving to start my career in the navy as a mass communications specialist.

i can't wait... very excited! so many many things i want to leave behind! and so many things to look forward to.

it's been a long wait in the DEP program, but finally the time has come, and i feel good and ready. navy boot camp many not be as tough as say army or marines but it not easy either. but it's something i needs to get trough if i want this dream job.

ok my latest project i got done was for heavy metal magazine... but it might be a while before i find out anything about it. in case it don't make the mag. it will eventually go up here but that will be a long time form now since i'm heading for boot camp soon. don't worry lots a previews will go up here and youtube, walkthroughs tutorials and so on  before i go anywhere so stay tooned. check out the video and description to find out more.

last video got over 800 hits here on DA [link] after it was age restricted and stuck on 230 something views on youtube. this one will also get hit i'm afraid. but then again with over 1800 hits on youtube no one reported how to draw big boobs. [link] guess it's a matter of who's watching and who got up out of the wrong side of the bed that morning.

videos are doing petty well all around though... i got a few more plained but i'm also working on other things here.

one busy month! and with just a few videos here and on youtube i managed to do ok. it's harder to get views on youtube cause of there new view counter and it's not a targeted audience to post stuff about comic making. but i'm glad i got DA! on youtube the only one getting the most hits is the how to draw boobs. while on DA thanks to groups and so on, the numbers are alot higher for the rest of them. i'm sure the number of people posting videos on DA also has something to do with it.

ok my last video how to draw boobs has reached over 240 something views in about a week and then froze. sucks that it froze probable due to someone over watch it. lol but its enough to get the ball rolling and it has help my other videos get there hits up. it should go back to normal soon enough. thanks guy for your support!

i also had the time to clean up my DA gallery and my DA portfolio... both needed one good reorganizing before i headed to boot-camp! deleted a few obsolete folders and added some new ones. in both theres now a pencils folder. since i now have pencils i feel a good enough to show off.

doing this got me to look at what i've done in the past year. it amazing how much one can do and grow within a year. joining the navy will be even better. this year is tough and there are going to be alot of changes in my life but i look forward to them!

i'm getting used to the whole people taking my images and post them on their web sites blogs facebook whatever. kid or people who don't know any better and think that can use it. i also go as far as getting used to people who write web articles and decide to use my image just cause they found it on the web. like here... look at the link and look around people, there are many images there all of which i'm sure they got from the net. these guys don't look like they got licensing from dc and marvel to sell shirts.

now i do realize the reason they used my image is cause i posted the high rez for people to color in. it's not cool if people abuse my kindness. don't make have to take my high rez inks and pencils down!!!

basically its many old navy jobs put together... journalist, photographer, film and video editor, graphic artist, and yes illustrator amongst other things. this is a is big big break for me. and i get to continue doing what i love and being creative.

it's gonna be alot of work and i have to get through boot camp. after that they'll send me to school and i'll have alot to learn. but i'm excited! i thought for a long time joining the navy was gonna mean the end of me working in art and what not. so mostly i'm just relieved... this is one of the hardiest jobs to get in the navy and i have no idea how i got it. i'm on lucky bastard... so no matter what i have go through or put up with, i know to just deal with it.

i ship out next year, till then i'll have alot to prepare for, and i need to get into better shape physically. alot of my time will spent getting ready for boot camp and everything else. but i feel inspired so hopefully i can still get alot of art done. even if if just experimenting with things i don't normally do like video or photography.

some of you guy might know this... this is the first time i'm like making a sort of announcement about it. but this is why haven't been uploading much or excepting jobs or request in the last few months.

i'm leaving comics behind as a career, for many reasons! and maybe i'll rate about it some day. but i'm not gonna stop drawing or working on my art. i mean i couldn't even if i tried. so it's not like i'll disappear. i'll be moving around alot and that might make getting internet access and scanning new work a pain. but i will try my best.

also i made lots of friends online and made a few fans... i hope i can still maybe help out those looking tips and critiques, those wanna bes who are looking for advice. i will still try my best to help those guys out as much as i can. my main site has been down for a while cause of a server crash... and i've been to lazy to get it fixed or move to a new one. but my how to videos are still up both here and on youtube. so any question and come strait to me.

i'll try to be around on deviant art as much as i can... but school and libraries like block this site. so in case the military tries to do the same... here my facebook. [link]

as some of you might now from past journals and links on facebook... i have problem with keeping this one peace of art under control, it keeps getting posted on different webpages, blogs, and such, with out my permission. i've given up the point less fight. but theirs two things i can't stand.

one is people posting it up like its there own, i seen the image up on flicker and have had to report it a number of times on facebook. i really don't mind you using it as long as you give me credit. don't draw, trace, or remove my signature. WTF! and it's not cool to crop it all up, either.

but some guys are nice they will add a link and your name on the bottom... after you ask! and give you lame excuses. like we didn't know it was yours we thought is was the real cover. bull! if your a real fan of the book if you read it even once, you'd know the real cover, and not knowing even that makes you (ironically) a big fat phony!!!

but some guys choose to ignore me all together, some even block my public comments. and they won't right back and they get away with it cause they're in another country, cause they know i don't have the resources to fight back. and i hate it, all i can do is bitch and complain. yes it cool to have your art be posted and shared, and its a sign of "hey people like my stuff." how many artist out there would love to have at least one peaces of art become viral. but it's not all fun when your a starving artist, looking for work, looking to make a living. and the large newspaper read by hug number of people, takes your art work and acts like they don't owe you anything. if you can't count on large company to be professional then who can you count on. your art is used for their editorial and it looks nice and many get to see it... but you reap nothing from it.

this is a call for help sent to me by a friend, about a little who has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). This little girl has endured months of multiple spinal taps, shunt, chemotherapy, and more, and must spend the next two YEARS undergoing treatments, with the immediate six months being particularly crucial.

the family is trying to raise money to help with the incredibly costly medical expenses. As part of that effort includes this event on May 7. They will be awarding door prizes and holding a silent auction that night, and my friend has offered to ask musicians and artists if they would like to donate some items for the benefit coordinators to give away or sell at the event.
